Partners in Austria"iff", The Austrian Interdisciplinary Faculty of Research and Continuing
Education of the Universities Klagenfurt, Vienna, and Graz - has been developing mediation and conflict management programs since 1995. The "iff" has cooperated with the Center for Mediation in Law since its founding, offering seminars with Gary Friedman and Jack Himmelstein and started also a Master University Program "European General Mediator" in Austria. Since the enactment of the Federal Law for Mediation in Austria, there is also offered a special intensive program for business mediation "IWM". AVM is an Austrian association that mainly deals with interests and concerns of lawyers in relation to mediation. AVM supports the training and continued education of its members as mediators and/or as attorneys representing their clients in mediation. We seek to assure the highest standard of quality of lawyers work in mediation in the interest of the clients. Based in Vienna, AVM does public relations for mediation as a new form of dispute resolution for potential clients as well as for the legal profession and keeps its members informed about new developments on this subject. AVM currently has 275 members all over Austria.
